Kai mattresses are made from natural products such as cotton and wool. Hand-made and hand-tufted here in Washington, the Kai mattresses offer some benefits to those who suffer from allergies or are sensitive to irritants at a very reasonable price.
The Kai is a cotton and wool innerspring mattress. The queen is manufactured with a 650 coil innerspring unit using 95 percent recycled steel, 40 pounds of USA-grown cotton, and 9 pounds of Pacific Northwest wool; the Kai is a very popular economical model.
The Kai can be ordered with natural or organically grown cotton. Natural cotton is economical, grown by American farmers, and does not contain any added chemicals like boric. 100 percent certified organically grown cotton does not contain boric or mineral oil. Organically grown cotton, grown in the USA, results in a dramatic reduction in worldwide pesticide use. Organic farming does not employ synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, ensuring that organically grown cotton is a clean, pure, natural product.
Pacific Northwest-grown wool is hypoallergenic, naturally fire retardant, dust mite repelling, supporting, and soothing. The wool content eliminates the need to use any chemicals for fire safety.
